COVID 19 – SURGERY UPDATES
Appointments: During the Covid 19 pandemic the safety and welfare of patients and staff is our highest priority. We are offering both urgent and routine appointments as usual, however all appointments will be triaged by a doctor first. The doctor may telephone you, or ask you to send in photographs/take part in a video consultation. Only if you need a physical examination will the doctor invite you into the surgery under strictly controlled conditions. You will be required to wear a face covering or shield.
We may have fewer appointments than usual due to the slower process of triaging calls, or due to absence of staff who may be unwell or self-isolating. We will do our very best to help you, but please use the Choose Pharmacy service for minor ailments to reduce pressure on our services and allow us to prioritise the most unwell.
Prescriptions: Prescription requests can be dropped into the letterbox of the surgery 24 hours a day. Please allow 2 full working days for a prescription to be processed. To reduce congestion at the prescription collection window, please try to nominate a local pharmacy where your prescription can be sent for you to collect.
Our collection window is open between 9.30 – 1.00 and 2 – 5.30 Monday – Friday. Please note we cannot take prescriptions over the telephone, or fax them to a pharmacy.
Covid 19 Vaccinations: We are offering Covid 19 vaccinations at the surgery. You will be contacted either by phone, text, or letter when we are vaccinating your group. The oldest and most vulnerable patients are being vaccinated first, and Cardiff & Vale Health Board will also be vaccinating groups of patients at their Mass Vaccination Centres. You do not need to contact us – we will contact you - please ensure all your contact details are up to date. You may be asked to attend the surgery at short notice for your vaccination.
Whilst we fully appreciate the frustrations caused by the pandemic and lockdown we would ask you to be respectful and polite to our staff who are working very hard in challenging times. We are trying our best to help. Abuse of staff will not be accepted. Your support is much appreciated.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
The practice premises have wheelchair access and there are toilets available for disabled patients. Please tell the receptionist if your hearing or eyesight is impaired.
